Nicole Patricia Fensom, 29, and a male friend forced their way inside the Bland Street house in the early hours of July 30 and bashed the victim – Fensom’s ex-girlfriend – in a fit of rage.
Fensom pleaded guilty to aggravated break and enter and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday.
Police documents tendered to the court said the victim had changed her Facebook status to ‘in a relationship’ earlier that evening, resulting in Fensom calling the woman a short time later and abusing her over the phone.
“You’re a f—king putrid rat,” Fensom yelled at the woman before telling her she looked like Mr Burns, in reference to the cartoon character on The Simpsons.
Their heated exchange prompted Fensom, the male friend and another woman to drive from a premises in Warrawong to the victim’s home.
Fensom and the man banged on the front door but were told the leave. Instead, they forced their way inside the house, at which time Fensom confronted her ex-girlfriend’s new partner, punching her in the face.
She then searched for her former lover, eventually discovering her hiding in a bedroom.
Fensom and the male repeatedly punching and kicking the woman, leaving her bloodied and bruised.
At one stage, the male grabbed the victim by her legs and dragged her out of the room before he and Fensom then pulled her along the hallway to the front door.
They again punched and kicked her and tried to drag her down the stairs, however the victim’s partner had hold of her, preventing Fensom and the man from going any further.
The pair let go of the victim and fled the scene.
Fensom’s ex-girlfriend suffered a cut to the left side of her forehead, lumps on her head, scratches to her back and a sore lip.
Her new partner later told police her nose was so sore from Fensom’s punch that she suspected it had been broken, however it was later discovered it wasn’t.
Fensom and the male were arrested just after 8.30am that morning.
Fensom remains behind bars and will be sentenced next month.
