It was at Waves in Towradgi, and the roof collapsed during a wild storm with the walls gushing like Niagara Falls but the Aria-nominated band played on.
They're hoping they won't have a repeat incident next Thursday at the Wollongong’s UniBar.
So far the forecast is for a “possible” shower, but that’s not upsetting band frontman Fergus Linacre.
“Yeah we did notice it,” recalls Linacre with laugh. “Everyone got more than they bargained for.
“Our crew were running around making it safe. You’ve just got to trust the people [behind the scenes], if they tell you to get off the stage then you get off. But we kept playing, it was good fun.”
The rockers from Melbourne have just released a new album, After Hours Close To Dawn, though it proved quite a feat after songwriter and lead guitarist Alex Laska had a basketball mishap.
It dislocated the finger from the main joint and tore the ligaments on both sides. Everyone heard it.

“We have a half-size basketball court behind our little studio and we always have breaks to shoot hoops and recreate scenes from [the movie] Space Jam,” Laska said.
“One night a bunch of us were out there playing three-on-three and the ball came off the ring and smashed my pinkie finger on my left hand.
“It dislocated the finger from the main joint and tore the ligaments on both sides. Everyone heard it.”
Linacre said the mishap had a “big impact” on their new record and rather than sitting down to the piano to write songs his friend had to envisage them in his head as well as sing them.
This could be why there’s so many harmonies from the blokes on their new songs.
“We love our harmonies,” he said.
But it’s not just male melodies in tune you’ll catch at their upcoming gig.
They’ve enlisted some amazing lighting technicians, back up vocalists and some other musicians to give it a big show vibe rather than “just four guys with amps”.
Kingswood, supported by WAAX and Maddy Jane, play Wollongong Uni Bar, Thursday March 30.
