At the end of last week, there was a furore over a comment that ex Rugby League great Wally Lewis made.

I totally missed it, because at the time I was watching the best show on TV - Gogglebox.
During a segment on the NRL Footy Show, Wally's female opponent - Australian Jillaroo's player Allana Ferguson - said she was going to say the next phrase in the segment 'with no teeth'.
Wally said: “It always feels better that way”. Thunderous applause ensued while a social media storm broke.
Live studio audience members laughed raucously or sat, opened mouthed, aghast at the foot-in-mouth moment which went live into the lounge-rooms of almost half a million Australians.
The 'joke' has been labelled sexist, crass, and distasteful. I'll tell you now that I was offended. I wasn't offended as a woman, and I wasn't offended because I'm a prude.
I was offended because I have a sense of humour. Are we really laughing at bum, fart and penis jokes? Is sexual innuendo really a gag?
It wasn't funny, and it wasn't not-funny because it was offensive, it was not funny because it was just a really base (and kind of glaringly obvious) comment to make.
Sometimes I forget that walking amongst us are people who own Adam Sandler movies on DVD, who get into punch-ups after their footy team loses, and who probably voted for One Nation.
The same people who troll Erin Molan on social media because they'd 'never go there' which is so weird because she is exactly the sort of girl I'd go to for all of my footy advice. One thing is for sure though, I can't wait to see how the Goggleboxers react to this one.
