Ms Bauer provides opportunities for other up and coming local dancers and those with global experience like herself who now want to work more at home in the Illawarra and Sydney.
A few years ago she started a business called Dancers 4 Events that has already showcased Illawarra dancing and singing talent at venues such as Anita’s Theatre, City Beach Function Centre and at the Illawarra Business Awards two years ago at IPAC.
“Friday’s D4E production is designed for HeyDay itself celebrating great numbers from Chicago, Gatsby and Moulin Rouge complemented by a visit to the fun genre post modern jukebox”.
“Within its mix are classics such as All That Jazz, Feeling Good, Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend, When a Man Loves a Woman and Crazy Little Thing Called Love. And these sit alongside new variations and creations such as a Burlesque inspired Walk Like An Egyptian, a modern twist on Singing In The Rain and You Give Love a Dad Name postmodern style.”
Ms Bauer said Friday’s line up included six D4E dancers. She said each one brought to the show “a wealth of experience and passion including contracts with International Cruise Lines, and work throughout Europe and the UK as well as locally in Sydney, Melbourne and throughout Queensland”.
There are also three singers headlining the show including Jodie O'Shea, Emma Rodgers and Trent Bowater.
“Trent’s knowledge and finesse cultivated from a life-time of professional musical theatre and touring his own Robbie Williams Tribute Show nationally for years adds invaluably to the D4E production,” Ms Bauer said.
“And two featured artists, Michelle Screigh and Brodie Shepherd, will keep the audience highly entertained in their beautifully designed duet. Both Michelle and Brodie have worked throughout Europe at reputable theatres and are now in Sydney working the Sydney Showboat as well as several works with prominent choreographers.”
Ms Bauer said she was trying to bring more variety to Wollongong and each show she produces and choreographs is different.
“This show takes a step away from the standard sit down and watch formula choosing instead a more interactive and intimate approach which is perfect for the space and to encourage audiences that the evening is about them and their night and the show simply enhances that,” she said.
Ms Bauer said now that she has moved back to Wollongong from Italy she will be producing many shows each year for Wollongong and throughout Australia.
Another one she is planning for Wollongong is a Moulin Rouge Paris show August 18th and 19th.
“I am grateful to have such a professional and brilliant cast on this show, and all our shows,” she said.
