Police have charged a man over an alleged one-punch attack in North Wollongong, late Sunday.

Police say a 27-year-old man had left a nearby licensed premises and was standing on Cliff Road about 10pm, when he was set upon by another man, aged 23.
The younger man allegedly hit the other to the side of the head, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head on the pavement.
He lost consciousness for a short time before he was treated on the street by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
He was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition, and released on Monday morning.
Police arrested the 23-year-old man soon afterwards.
He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The 23-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on May 9.

Note: An earlier version of this story indicated the two men were involved in a verbal altercation in the lead-up to the alleged attack. A witness has since told the Mercury this was not the case.
