The White Eagles, who won last year’s grand final over IPL heavyweights Kemblawarra Fury, have lost consecutive matches to Bulli and Cringila Lions heading into their match with United at Macedonia Park.
“It’s going to be a hard game,” Allport said.
“We copped a couple of injuries and have lost two in a row now so have dug a bit of a hole that we need to get out of. We have to stop conceding soft goals.
“We can’t afford to do that again against United.
“If we continue how we played in the second half against Cringila, that should hold us in good stead.”
United are also coming off a loss heading into the match after falling to a 3-2 loss against ladder-leaders Bulli over the weekend.
They had been unbeaten before the match.
Corrimal Rangers are also scheduled to host Port Kembla on Wednesday night at Memorial Park.
