Dry weather is expected for dawn services and morning marches across the region, with the rain not likely to set in until early afternoon.
Weatherzone’s 48-hour Wollongong forecast suggests clouds will begin to build as crowds gather for the 5am dawn service at MacCabe Park, but they shouldn’t bring any rain.
The forecast predicts mostly cloudy conditions at 6am, with the air temperature hovering around 18 degrees.
Similar weather is likely to be felt during the 4.30am dawn service at Albion Park. Fifteen degrees is the forecast temperature for the inland suburb at 6am.
Mostly cloudy conditions are expected to stick around after the sun rises, although the rain should hang off – allowing the 10am Wollongong march to go ahead umbrella-free.
Rain is tipped to arrive early afternoon, potentially forcing any outdoor two-up games inside.
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted a cloudy April 25 for Wollongong, with a very-high chance of rain, most likely in the afternoon and evening.
Rainfall totals of between two and four millimetres are expected in Wollongong, while 3-4mm is forecast at Albion Park, the bureau said.
