It’s an all too common story in the sporting world and is the reason why Wolves coach Jacob Timpano thinks there will be no more difficult time to battle the Sutherland Sharks than this weekend.

Sutherland let go coach Carlos Villazon this week after they were knocked out of the FFA Cup in a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Fraser Park on Wednesday. During seven rounds to start the NSW NPL Men’s 1 campaign, the Sharks have also won just once to struggle their way to 10^th on the ladder.

Allan Edmondson will take over as caretaker coach when Sutherland host the Wolves at Seymour Shaw Park this weekend in a match when Timpano expects to face tough opposition. 

“When a coach gets the chop, more often than not you see a reaction and that’s what we are expecting,” he said.

“It will be a tough game, if not the toughest time to meet the Sharks all season.” 

The Wolves were bundled out of the FFA Cup by the Sharks earlier this month. It was one of the club’s worst performances of the season and Timpano says his men want to atone for the display.

They will have to exact revenge without midfielder Ben Tosi, who broke his foot last weekend.

“Tosi missed the preseason but has played out first three or four matches and has been good,” Timpano said.

“Being a centre midfielder, it is a key loss especially with the way he has been playing.”

Brendan Griffin or David Stojic will likely take his place in the line-up.
