A late goal from the head of Jared Fish sealed the Blueys’ second victory of the season in front of their home fans Tarrawanna Oval.
“It was a good win,” Tarrawanna coach Peter Willis said.
“It was good to get three more points, but it is early season so we won’t be getting too carried away with the result, that’s for sure.
“But it was a good team performance all the same.
“We will take it as a stepping stone in the right direction.”
Tarrawanna had been unbeaten in their past two matches heading into the clash.
They also hold one of the best defences in the league this season, with just five goals conceded through their opening five matches.
That record held up against an Olympic outfit, who struggled to break them down throughout the majority of the 90-minutes.
However, while the Blueys created the better of the chances, they went into the half time break scoreless.
It wasn’t until the 84th minute that Fish finally opened the scoring for the hosts.
After having a goal disallowed in the first half, the former Bulli attacker rose highest to head home Josh Chapple’s cross.
“He is one of the shortest people on the field but he is very good in the air,” Willis said.
“He times his jumps so well and it was a just reward because he has a very good game as did most of the team.
“I think on the balance of play it was pretty even but the chances created, we did more than them on the day.
“I think both defences were pretty solid.”
The result lifts Tarrawanna into fifth spot in the competition ahead of their match with Kemblawarra Fury next weekend.
Olympic slipped back into solo second on the ladder, with Bulli now three points clear at the top after chalking up another convincing win over the weekend.
Bulli, who remain unbeaten after six matches in the league, smashed Picton 5-1 at Hume Oval.
In other matches on Saturday, the Fury demolished Woonona 4-0.
Strike pairing Matthew McNab and Anthony Proia both scored doubles for the visitors in a dominant display at Ocean Park.
A double from Japanese star Shohei Okuno helped Albion Park White Eagles storm back into the winner’s circle with a 4-2 win over Corrimal Rangers.
Mitchell Del Turco and Chris Nathaniel also got on the scoresheet for Park.
