As soon as the ribbon was cut by store manager Jenna King dozens of early shoppers waiting in a queue outside the entrance walked in and were greeted by staff all dressed in red.
Ms Carradine said she had shopped at T.J. Maxx in the USA before, which is owned by the same parent company. She said she knew what to expect from TK Maxx and was excited to be one of the first in the new look store that underwent a transformation from Trade Secret on Wednesday night.
“I am just here to catch a couple of bargains and see what is going on. I have been to T.J. Maxx in America and I’ve been to Trade Secret here before”.
The Warrawong store is one of two being opened in Wollongong this year by the international fashion and retail giant.
Ms Carradine was among hundreds of shoppers in the first hour to fill their trolleys with first day bargains. No one seemed to be in a hurry to leave the store. They all took the time to check everything on offer.
