Coming from a classical music background and studying a degree in music at university Noonan has learnt Italian, German, French, has sung a little in Russian and Latin but never Portugese.
“It is an extemely challenging language, probably one of the most challenging languages I’ve ever sung in,” Noonan said.
“It’s not just the pronunciation but the also the sounds of the language.”
She credited the help of a Brazilian singer and composer Eddie Gazani who was her mentor in learning the language.
The result being Song of the Latin Skies, a journey through bossa nova, samba, salsa, tango and more.
