The six foot bombshell will morph into a dancing queen this week with Lara Mulcahy, 48, in a comic musical adventure – ABBA-solutely Fabulous! at Dapto Leagues.
However this isn’t just another tribute show as the pair have spiced it up in the style of Patsy and Edina.
“I’m six foot and that’s without my platform boots. Lara’s as short and round as I am long and tall. I am the champagne and designer where she’s jeans and t-shirt,” Burchmore said.
“It’s a little bit of Patsy and Eddy from Absolutely Fabulous meets ABBA … and everyone’s in lycra and boots and high heels.”
This year marks 40 years since the Swedish pop group toured Australia for the first time.
Burchmore was a teacher in regional NSW at the time but couldn’t make it to their concerts. Instead she watched as much of the hype she could on the lone television in the staff room.
“Through my teenage years there was one hit after the other, [ABBA] were just common place in the home,” she said.
“I would imagine myself being Frida the redhead. I just thought they were so cool back then and their songs were so catchy.”
ABBA-solutely Fabulous! Dapto Leagues, Saturday May 13. Tickets $40 from www.daptoleagues.com.au
