Local flathead have been hitting their straps, with nearly all the recognised sand drifts from Windang in the south right up to the Royal National Park, all producing good sized fish, with Stanwell Park being a recent standout hot spot for 50-60cm flatties.

Beaches have again fished well for bream, whiting, salmon and tailor and speaking of tailor, the recent run of these guys has been nothing short of awesome with some of them going 2 to 3 kilos.
The big tailor have been joined by similar sized Pacific salmon and both species fell to metal slugs, ganged pillies or well-presented strip baits.
Fishing the same water and using fresh beachworms, should see you get amongst some big blue-nosed bream and winter whiting with the occasional big flathead in the mix.
There have been plenty of school sized mulloway about of late with quite a few anglers successfully changing tactics and using jigged plastics in the surf.
However there were a couple of bigger fish pulled on fresh squid baits and yakkas but anglers are keeping details close to their chest.

Three men face serious fisheries charges after they were allegedly found in possession of a combination of threatened species of fish during a recent inspection on the Murray River.
A Yarroweyah man and two men from Melbourne’s eastern suburbs face several breaches of the NSW Fisheries Management Act 1994.
They are accused of possessing 8 trout cod, 12 silver perch, 2 prohibited size Murray cod and failing to pay the NSW Recreational Fishing Fee.
