Queensland duo Busby Marou will grace the stage at Bulli’s Heritage Hotel tonight, a few days earlier than expected.
However the reshuffle was not due to Jeremy Marou, 34, suffering two heart attacks at the start of the month.
“He’s fully recovered now, he’s bounced back,” Tom Busby said, assuring the reschedule was due to the logistics of Australia being so big.
Though Busby did say his good mate’s health scare was a “crazy wake-up call” for both of them and a motivator to make healthier choices on the road.
“The excitement always seems to get the better of us … because we’ve been on the road for that long since the start of the year we’ve been burning the candle at both ends,” he said.
“He is more healthier now after the incident, because of the [medical procedures], than since we ever started touring.”
The pair are full of beans for their gig at the Heritage Hotel in support of their third album, Postcards From The Shell House.
It’s one of the first venues they ever stepped foot in outside of Queensland.
Busby said it seemed like their first “proper gig” with a sound and lighting technicians, a stage and bar outside.
While he also recalled leaving his treasured blue backpack – a “nerdy” looking thing full of tour essentials – in Bulli, forced to grab a train from Bondi to Bulli the next day then up to Newcastle just in time for their next gig.
