DreamCricket, a program developed for primary school children with a disability, uses cricket-based activities to develop the children’s physical skills, confidence and self-esteem in a team environment whilst also having fun.
Fun is exactly what the kids had at the latest DreamCricket clinic on May 23.
Corrimal Rotary Club organised the event at Fairy Meadow Demonstration School. A coordinator from DreamCricket brought along the equipment and explained each activity to the eager participants.
In small groups, the children rotated through nine activities, each of which was demonstrated and run by Keira High School students with help from Corrimal Rotary Club members.
A spokeswoman said it was also important that the students that shared the day also gained an understanding of the difficulties that some children experience.
