A man accused of holding up a liquor store in Wollongong on Saturday afternoon then handing himself in to police two hours later has been identified in court as Keiraville’s Warren Willis.

Police allege Willis, 23, entered the BWS Woolworths store on Burelli Street just after 1.30pm armed with a 25-cm-long steel knife and threatened the shop assistant, demanding cash.
The attendant handed over $300 and Willis allegedly fled the store.
He was last seen running west on Burelli Street.
Officers from Wollongong command attended and established a crime scene.
It is understood detectives were still examining the scene at 3.15pm when Willis handed himself into Wollongong Police Station.
He was placed under arrest and charged with armed robbery.
He did not apply for bail in Wollongong court on Sunday and it was formally refused.
The matter was adjourned to July.
Willis will be assessed by mental health professionals while in custody.
