Gemma Lyon, 27, was up against Fasika Ayallew, 19, in a battle round though Lyon drew the short straw from judge Kelly Rowland.
“I’m so very glad that I did it,” Lyon said of her time on the show. “Overall I’m feeling really inspired from the coaches and the other wonderful artists that I’ve met.”
It was revealed during rehearsals for Monday’s program Rowland took a video of the pair peforming ‘Remember Me’ and forwarded it to good friend Jennifer Hudson (J-Hud).
Lyon said that alone was a special moment and “who knows” where that may lead her career in the future.
“My vibe is I guess, work in silence and really get down to the nitty gritty of originals … and release my EP in the next year or so,” she said of her plans until her contract with the show ends.
Twelve competitors remain, vying for a recording contract with Universal Music Australia and a cash prize of $100,000.
