Venues at Dapto and Bulli will install the new hoop arm lure system as part of several chances made by Greyhound Racing NSW to reduce injuries sustained in the sport.
GRNSW have trialled the lure over the past six months and have made it mandatory for every track in the state.
Neighbouring Nowra already have the lure installed while Bulli will hold its first meeting with the new system this Saturday.
The lure resembles a blue and white mop and hangs further off the rail than current mechanical lure system was introduced in Australia in 1927.
Bulli operations manager Darren Hull welcomed the change.
"It is better for two main reasons and the first of those is that it is safer because it sits out in the middle of the track rather than low on the rail like the other bunny did so that will reduce collisions on the inside," he said.
"The second is it takes away that reference of an animal like situation where as the old lure used to look like an animal, this one doesn't."
Dapto are awaiting confirmation for when they lure will be installed, but expect to have it within the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, several Illawarra and South Coast trained greyhounds will head to Sydney this Saturday night for the heats the Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic (520m) at Wentworth Park.
