The Wolves led 2-0 at half time following goals from Yuzo Tashiro and Patrick Antelmi before withstanding a dangerous Olympic side for most of the second half to secure three valuable points.
“I thought it was a very good win against a very good football team,” Wolves coach Jacob Timpano said.
“I don’t think we started the match well but we made our way into it and got the two goals to lead at half time.
“We spoke to the boys about it being a dangerous scoreline and should have put the game to bed in the second half, with Patrick’s chances.
“But the boys hung on and dug deep.”
Olympic dominated early, but it was all for nothing 24 minutes in. Tashiro pounced first on an error at the back to slam home the opener.
Four minutes later the lead was doubled as Antelmi turned his marker and fired into the bottom corner.
Down 2-0 at the half, Olympic never looked out of the contest and pulled one back just 7 minutes into the second half.
Thomas Whiteside's cross was met by Yu Koboki, who's header cannoned off the crossbar into the path of Tsattalios for the easiest of tap ins. Tashiro and Antelmi both had opportunities in the final half an hour to seal the result but couldn't find a way past in-form goalkeeper Paul Henderson.
The Wolves’ victory moves them to 19 competition points and four points outside the top-five.
