The winter wonderland extravaganza of wine tasting, food and entertainment has steadily grown over the last decade. More than half of all visitors travel especially from Sydney, Wollongong, Shellharbour and Canberra.
This year a large number of Wollongong and Shellharbour people have booked wine festival bus tours.
And if the weather holds the Shoalhaven Coast Wine Industry Association is expecting 2017 to be another record year.
Festival-goers pay $15 entry at the first winery they visit, which includes a festival glass for wine tastings at the nine participating wineries from Gerringong to Bawley Point. They are Yarrawa Estate, Roselea Vineyard, Crooked River Wines, Silos Estate & Wileys Creek, Mountain Ridge Wines, Coolangatta Estate, Two Figs Winery, Cambewarra Estate and Bawley Vale Estate. Each vineyard organises its own activities.
Many have live music, food, market stalls, art exhibitions, education talks and vineyard tours. Information at winefestival@shoalhavencoastwine.com.au.
