The party’s three sitting MPs – Ryan Park, Paul Scully and Anna Watson – have been preselected unopposed as candidates for their respective seats of Keira, Wollongong and Shellharbour.
Nominations for the rank-and-file preselection were called on June 2 and closed at 2pm on Friday.
The selections have been made in line with other areas across the state. “It’s just a matter of getting things in order ... to ensure that we’ve got people on the ground ready to go for the 2019 campaign,” Mr Scully said.
“It makes sense that the Illawarra is dealt with as a region on these things.”
Mr Scully’s preselection comes on the heels of his Wollongong byelection victory – Monday marks seven months since the city went to the polls on November 12.
The state candidate announcements come after Fiona Phillips was preselected as the party's federal challenger for the marginal seat of Gilmore in March.
