HARRI ILIFFE

One of my favourite athletes is Illawarra Hawks guard Rhys Martin. Because he is so smart at his sport, he evaluates every situation and makes the best move. - Harri Iliffe

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

Someone that can have fun but when I need to get something done I will finish it.     

When did you start being involved in athletics and how did you get started?

I started first doing high jump about age 8 then started to do some sprinting and long jump.

Why did you apply for an IAS scholarship?

So I could gain some more experience in my sport and learn some more about technique, fitness and how to prepare for whatever I do.

Who’s your favourite professional athlete and why?

One of my favourite athletes is Illawarra Hawks guard Rhys Martin. Because he is so smart at his sport, he evaluates every situation and makes the best move. And he has lots of control on himself, he doesn't get angry or get out of control.        

What is your greatest achievement in athletics so far?

The greatest moment was coming second at Nationals for high jump definitely.

If you weren’t playing this sport what would you be doing and why?

I would be doing a range of things including; basketball, AFL, swimming, surfing and touch football

What is your favourite subject at school?

My favourite subject at school is P.E

What are you plans after school?

I would like to become a professional athlete. But I would also like to be a physiotherapist.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

I would like to live in Santorini Greece

What do you do in your free time?

Go down to the beach a lot with friends. Most of my time is spent with my friends doing something at a park or a farm or at the beach.
