Not only did Michael and Martin Papac provide breakfast at the networking event but spoke about how quickly the business has grown over the last 18 months.
Michael recalled how he was a chef in Europe for four years after doing his apprenticeship in Wollongong. The opportunity to do high-end catering in London and private celebrity parties working with clients such as Kate Moss and Elton John was where the idea for what M2 Kitchen is now doing in the Illawarra began,
Martin said he worked in New Zealand after doing his apprenticeship and then joined his brother in London. “We both missed Wollongong. We always had the idea of opening a catering business together. We are proud of Wollongong and use local businesses for our produce.”
The brother chefs said they were now living their dream. “It is going even better than we expected. It is a family effort and is going exactly where we wanted it to go,” Michael said.
M2 Kitchen is always on the move going to its clients.
One day it might be doing a wedding on a farm near Berry and the next catering for a business lunch in Wollongong.
“We go everywhere and anywhere really,” Michael said.
Just a few days later M2 Kitchen and Events With Distinction hosted a Tasting Day at Thirroul Beach.
