Word Salad will have a different theme each meeting from open mic to test performance to test poetry, performance or song, book club for fiction addicts, author talks and book launches (such as Ingeborg van Teeseling’s “Shack Life”).
The founders of Word Salad said they want to build a connection in the community, to get SCWC members more involved, and to share a love of literature with Illawarra residents.
“They thought there was a a bit of a gap, people want poetry readings or open mic sessions, or even talking about books and there wasn’t really a [regular] event happening like that in Wollongong,” committee member Linda Godfrey said.
Word Salad will meet Wednesdays from July 5, 6pm, at the Hideaway Cafe in Wollongong. SCWC Members Free, all others $5.
