They’ll headline a gig with Bec Sandridge, The Vanns and Bishop Briggs in support at Uni Hall, University of Wollongong on July 25.
Ben Tillman, of co-presenter Yours and Owls, said Catfish are selling out stadiums in the UK so this was a massive feat.
“I feel like it means Wollongong is more and more solidifying itself on the touring circuits and … big national promoters are seeing Wollongong as a vyable stop,” Tillman said.
“I just think it’s a bit of a turning point and hopefully it keeps happening again.
“We might have had bands on [the Splendour lineup] but this is an actual co-present.”
