DRAGONS forward Jack de Belin will miss Sunday’s NRL clash against Newcastle, after being found guilty of a crusher tackle in Sunday’s loss to Parramatta.

De Belin was penalised with 10 minutes to go, when he took Ken Edwards to the ground with an arm wrapped around behind his head, in a tackle with centre Tim Lafai.
Edwards rose to play the ball in clear discomfort, the only penalty Parramatta were given in a game they won 24-10.
The NSW shadow player was slapped with a grade one dangerous contact charge, but with 25 carryover points and a 50 per cent loading from a similar offence in the past two years, he was to serve missed one match even with an early guilty plea.
Instead, he contested the charge, but in a hearing in Sydney on Tuesday night, was found guilty and will have 75 carry-over points, as well as missing the Alex McKinnon Cup against the Knights, named in his close mate’s honour, the former Dragons and Newcastle player who suffered a spinal injury which ended his career in 2014.
De Belin will also miss out on playing a role as a shadow player for NSW, as the Blues try to secure the State of Origin series on Wednesday night at ANZ Stadium.
