The $9000 scholarship is part of a national initiative dedicated to supporting higher representation of female leadership in Australia’s workforce and the broader community.
Mrs Buhagiar is one of only a few women in Australia to receive the coveted scholarship in 2017. To be honoured in such a way a recipient must be considered to have great leadership and mentorship potential in their qualified field.
Mrs Buhagiar is the founder, director and licensed conveyancer at Active Property Conveyancing and is active in the Illawarra business community attending many networking events.
The $9,000 scholarship is significant for the Wollongong businesswoman because it is the highest amount an individual can receive from Advanced Leadership Program Scholarship by Women and Leadership Australia.
Mrs Buhagiar was also awarded the scholarship because of her commitment to her business and the Illawarra community. “This scholarship is an amazing opportunity to further develop my leadership skills,” she said.
