It’s a skill most top football side’s possess and Bulli showed their no exception to that rule with a thrilling stoppage time win against Tarrawanna on Saturday.
The title contenders were a goal down early in the first half, but fought back to snatch a 2-1 win at the death after a dramatic late goal from Guy Knight.
Bulli coach Matt Bailey was thrilled to escape Tarrawanna Oval with the three points.
“Sometimes it is isn’t so much about the performance, but the result is the important thing,” he said.
“That was the case on Saturday.
“If we go a goal down, we have to have the quality there to be able to claw our way back and get a result,”
Tarrawanna led just 15 minutes in when Sam Chapple finished superbly from a free kick.
The lead lasted just nine minutes as Knight fired home the first of his two for the afternoon off an assist from Dylan Lewis.
The two teams went into the sheds level and battled hard throughout the second stanza to gain the ascendancy.
Bulli would finally crack their rivals resistance in the 91st minute when Knight headed home for a decisive goal.
“It was good to see [Guy Knight] step up and score a double,” Bailey said.
“We mixed things up at half time and I thought in that second half we had the better of the things.
“We created the more chances and might have scored before we did.”
