More than 30 volunteers on Friday and Saturday have collected thousands of dollars for the Leukaemia Foundation as part of the annual Angels at Work charity event. Not only have dozens of business angels visited Woonona, Corrimal, Wollongong, Port Kembla, Unanderra, Shellharbour and Warilla but a team called the ANZ Angels held a fundraising high tea on Sunday.

Patient ambassador David Crowe spoke at both the breakfast launch on Friday and the high tea. Angels at Work is its seventh year and has raised more than $150,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation. Funds are used to ensure vital services are provided at no cost to people in the Illawarra affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders. It helps provide safe transport to and from hospital treatments, accommodation close to major treatment centres, educational programs and emotional support and advocacy.
