While it may be edging closer to the end of the 2016-17 season, one must always respect a juvenile that can take on more experienced types and still salute.
It happened twice at Kembla Grange on Saturday with Joe Pride’s Brook Magic as well as Rob and Luke Price trained Can Party both coming up with the goods.
Brook Magic was perhaps the most impressive winner of the day as she chalked up her second consecutive dominant win at Kembla Grange. Ridden by leading hoop Jeff Penza, Brook Magic demolished rivals by 2-¼ lengths, with Mick Tubman’s Dashley Dubh in second and Tash Burleigh trained Ribands in third.
“She scooted along out in front and they couldn’t catch her,” Pride said.
“She is a nice filly in the making, that’s for sure.
“There is a 1200m race a Warwick Farm in a fortnight or so that we will look at now.”
Can Party wasn’t as dominant, but also won impressively with Penza in the saddle again.
