Age or cold weather will not weary members of the region’s original orchid society.
The Illawarra and District Orchid Society’s 66th annual winter show will be held at Warilla Senior Citizens Centre on July 1-2.
Society publicity officer Ken Wynn said it will be ‘’business as usual’’ at the two-day show.
‘’Visitors to the show will see a spectacular display of orchids,’’ he said.
‘’There will be sale tables with a large variety of flowering size plants, potting supplies includes pots, potting mixes and fertilisers for orchids.’’
Mr Wynn added annual spring and winter shows were held each year to promote the growing of orchids and the Illawarra and District Orchid Society.
Society vice-president Peter Frey said members will also be on hand to offer people advice on how to grow their orchids.
‘’Growing notes are also freely available,’’ he said.
Entry to the 66th annual winter show is free. The two-day show runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and 9am to 3pm on Sunday.
Judging of the show plants will be on the Saturday from 9-10am.
The raffle of a ‘’beautiful cymbidium orchid’’ will be drawn on Sunday at 2pm. Details at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit The Illawarra District Orchid Society’s Facebook page.
