One of Australia's oldest eisteddfods continued on the weekend, as dance troupes took to the IPAC stage.

The City of Wollongong Eisteddfod is in its 123rd season in 2017, running from late May until July 8.
The dance troupe performances took place at the IPAC on the weekend.
Eisteddfod committee president Tony Purdon said dance schools from throughout the Illawarra, as well as the likes of Dubbo, the Southern Highlands, Shoalhaven and southern Sydney took part this year.
He said the weekend would feature about 300 performances from 22 studios, spanning genres such as jazz, modern expressive, tap and classical ballet.
Competitors ranged in age from six and under to 18.
Horsley’s Tahlia Young, 13, of Vanessa Lee Dance Academy has been dancing for a decade, and is already a veteran of such eisteddfods.
She performed as part of groups showcasing jazz and modern dance routines.
Her favourite aspect of eisteddfods and dancing overall was “doing what I love with the people that I love… with my family and friends”.
Tahlia said she didn’t typically get nervous before troupe performances. “Only on solos,” she said. “I have some solos coming up on Tuesday and Wednesday.”
The troupes event is followed by solo performances at the IPAC from July 3-8.
