Her latest offering is set in 1890 and tells the story of love, desire, obsession and tragedy that lies behind the creation of this famous depiction of Sleeping Beauty.
Forsyth has written several children’s books but is best known for her historical novel Bitter Greens, which interweaves a retelling of Rapunzel with the true story of the woman who dreamt up the tale, 17th century French writer Charlotte-Rose de Caumont de La Force.
The writer is hosted in the Illawarra by The Neo Perennial Press as part of their ‘Heroines’ series featuring female authors writing about women’s stories.
