The revamp is part of the new store format ALDI is rolling out nationally and the store will temporarily close from July 23 to August 3.
The company is not only aiming for a fresh new look but improved product displays and navigation. An ALDI Australia spokesperson said extensive trials of the new format were carried out in South Australia and Western Australia and the innovations will not lead to higher prices as a result of the upgrades.
The new features at Shellharbour will include redesigned shelving, expanded wooden produce bays and extended energy efficient chillers. Energy management is a priority for ALDI and that will result in energy efficient LED lighting being installed.
“We’re excited to be undertaking these upgrades and welcome the community to visit our new store from 3 August 2017 and share their feedback about the store experience,” the spokesperson said.
While ALDI Shellharbour is temporarily closed shoppers are being advised ALDI Warilla will remain open for their grocery needs.
The Shellharbour store will continue to employ 15 to 20 permanent full and part-time employees and following the major upgrades opening hours will remain to be from 8:30am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8:30am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday.
