Bulli Surf Life Saving Club win 20 medals at NSW Pool Rescue Championships

Bulli Surf Life Saving Club won eight gold and 20 medals overall in an outstanding performance at the two-day NSW Pool Rescue Championships.

 Bulli had 20 U12s to U17s at Ryde Aquatic Centre and collected eight gold, seven silver and four bronze medals in individual and team events to place third in the Youth Point-score.

 “It was a great weekend for the club with some outstanding swimming from all of our kids. The team events were particularly enjoyable setting athletes for the first time to pick up a state medal,’’ Bulli SLSC team manager Keith Caldwell said,

Among Bulli’s standout individual performers were Chelsea Jones (U12) with five gold medals, a silver and bronze with Holly Holmesby (U13) winning five gold and one silver. Both girls dominated their age group along with Zara Sharman (U15) who won four silver and a bronze medal.

Other top performances in the boys divisions included Jeremy Woodford, Lucas Ottaway, Heath Wheeler and Caleb Sharman who won silver in the U12/U13 Male Brick Carry Relay  and third in the  Male Obstacle Relay and claimed silver in the Male Medley Relay.

Lucas and Heath won the U12/U13 Male 100m Patient Tow Relay, with Coen Taylor and Luke Thorpe third in the U14 Male Line Throw. Jade van Duin, Piper Kohler, Chelsea Jones and Holly Holmesby won the U12/U13 Female Medley Relay with Holly Holmesby, Chelsea Jones, Emily Gordon and Jade van Duin winning the U12/U13 Female Brick Carry Relay. Holly and Jade won the U13 Female Line Throw.
