As managing director and founder Natalie Chapman was thrilled by the honour and said such a significant award will be a game changer for the business.
“We may be a micro business, but we definitely pack a macro punch, and we love what we do. We help Australia’s smartest researchers and inventors to take their innovations to global markets and create the next generation of industries, for the benefit of all Australians,” she said.
“I want to thank the wider gemaker team for supporting our big business vision with tremendous energy and skill, by applying their expertise in market research, IP, research-industry engagement, funding strategy, and marketing communications. We work with many of Australia’s universities and other public and private research organisations whose innovation is world-class, with potential for huge positive impact in the real world. gemaker bridges the gaps between research and industry, and between innovation and commercialisation”.
By promoting technology transfer from the lab into the world of commerce, gemaker helps create and grow Australian industries and jobs.
In addition to that is also enhances the lives of Australians with new and improved products and services.
With the Telstra Business Awards recognising business excellence in Australia Ms Chapman said the win was a great acknowledgment of all the staff whose tireless innovation and grit had helped to grow gemaker over the last five years.
“We hope that any recognition from this honour will shine a light on the work we do which is of national importance - helping researchers, start-ups and innovative organisations bring innovative products and services to market,” she said.
“At gemaker we believe in supporting the health of our ecosystem, not just our company. We hope that this opportunity will boost our ability to continue giving back to our community. We believe an ethical approach to business should include investing heavily in our core values which, for gemaker, include supporting women in STEM, young STEM entrepreneurship, and flexible work for work-life balance for our team.”
The Telstra Business Awards recognise and reward the innovation of Australia’s most outstanding small and medium businesses.
