Wollongong’s swimming star Emma McKeon claimed her first medal at the FINA World Championships in Budapest, with a silver in the 4x100m freestyle final on Sunday night.

McKeon, who will swim in the final of 100m butterfly on Monday night, anchored the Australian team and recorded a slick time of 52.29 seconds to help them to an overall time of 3:32.81.
It saw Australia finish .29 seconds behind the United States, with the Netherlands taking bronze.
Swedish flyer Sarah Sjostrom set a new world record as the lead off leg, powering home in 51.71 seconds to shattered previous record of 52.06.
Meanwhile, David McKeon eighth in the men’s 400m freestyle final, clocking a time of 3:46.27.
Australian teammate Mack Horton (3:43.38), who won the gold medal at last year’s Olympics, finished runner-up behind China’s Sun Yang (3:41.38).
Italy’s Gabriele Detti (3:43.93) finished third.
