Police say a five-year-old girl who was taken from a Gold Coast childcare centre on Monday afternoon has been found.

The child's father was seen taking her from the facility on Birmingham Road in Carrara just before 4pm and putting her into an old brown sedan before driving off.
Police issued an Amber Alert for the child and said the pair may be travelling interstate and New South Wales officers had been alerted.
Overnight, police said the child and the man had been located safe and well near Kempsey, on the NSW north coast, and that investigations into the incident were continuing.
