We asked marketing manager Nicole Galea about the involvement of Warilla Grove in the Local Business Awards.
Q: What is special about sponsoring the Local Business Awards?
The Local Business Awards are a fantastic program to provide small to medium-sized retail businesses recognition for their ongoing contribution to the local community. It is a reputable, long-standing program that is valued by customers and retailers alike.
Q: Why is Warilla Grove involved?
We recognise the importance of supporting small to medium sized retail businesses through this program. They are the backbone of our economy and not often recognised for their success and hard work. Warilla Grove Shopping Centre is a community-minded centre and the values of the Local Business Awards align well with our own values of supporting and contributing to the community.
Q: What sort of input was required?
We sponsor the Local Business Awards in three different areas that we have shopping centres – Illawarra, Bankstown and The Hills District. We encourage our retailers to promote the program and ask their loyal customers to vote for them in-store or online.
Once the finalist list is released, the retailers are featured in a ‘Finalist’ feature and invited to the big awards night for the announcement of the winners. The program conducts an intensive judging process for the finalist stage including mystery shopper visits and audits to make sure the best retailers from each category are selected as the winners.
