Jindal companies around the world celebrate the day by giving to worthy or needy organisations.
With Wollongong Coal’s Russell Vale Colliery close to the school, the Russell Vale Public School P&C Association was this year’s worthy recipient.
On Monday, Wollongong Coal CEO Millnd Oza presented a $5000 cheque to the P&C.
‘’We are grateful for all donations we receive from the Russell Vale community, local businesses and other donors,’’ P&C president Pamela Anderson said.
‘’The donation will be go towards updating interactive whiteboard technologies for the school’s classrooms.’’
Relieving principal Paul Cuthbertson said these technologies allow the teachers the flexibility to teach in a variety of new and engaging ways through the use of videos, touch screens and interactive applications that increase student engagement and their readiness to learn, improving teacher effectiveness.
Jindal Founder’s Day is recognised annually by the company’s various world-wide interests, as it is the anniversary of the birth of the group’s founding chairman, the late Om Prakash Jindal.
Mr Jindal started his career in 1952 and went on to become a well-respected industrialist heading his own company.
