Dr Farquhar are a Wollongong-based “Steampunk” band with a unique theme and concept not often seen in the music scene of today. Steampunk is an inspired movement of creativity and imagination, taking the Victorian Era and the steam-powered industrial revolution and blending it with the future.

With every show the band travels back in time to the 80’s, recreating songs from bands such as Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Pseudo Echo, Real Life, Prince and Boom Crash Opera to name a few.
The key band characters are Admiral Maxwell Farquhar on lead vocals, Dr Kitty Farquhar on bass, keys and vocals, Colonel Conrad Farquhar on guitar and backing vocals and Professor Redmond Farquhar on drums.
If you’re a fan of 80’s music like me, and you love a good live show, then Dr Farquhar ticks all the boxes. The stage presentation, props, costumes and characters and the unique Steampunk concept is something worth seeing with your own eyes.
