We all make mistakes.
Unfortunately sometimes the silly decisions we make can have catastrophic consequences.
Jay Geoghegan will have to live with the consequences of his stupid decision for the rest of his life.
Unfortunately, Jesse Brown is not around to understand the consequences of his decision.
The pair were street racing along Windang Road last year.
Both were seen driving their vehicles “at high speed” and moving in and out of traffic on Windang Road on the afternoon of September 14 before Mr Brown’s Holden Commodore clipped Geoghegan’s Toyota Coupe.
The collision speared the Commodore into another lane where it slammed into the back of a truck, which was parked out the front of the Windang golf driving range making a delivery.
Mr Brown, 18, was killed instantly, police said.
A decision which ended in tragedy.
Their story is one which should be read before every young person jumps behind the wheel.
Hopefully then every young driver might understand the potential of making a poor decision on the road.
That one decision has changed a life forever.
That one decision has ended a life forever.
It is testament to the fact: SPEED KILLS.
A tough lesson to learn first hand.
