​Police allege Hislop used a kitchen knife to hold up Liquorland  at Warrawong on the evening of August 11, making off with about $450 in cash.

It is alleged Hislop entered the store just before 8.30pm and brandished the knife at the console operator, demanding he open the till. 

The employee was eventually able to open the drawer, allegedly prompting Hislop to grab the money and run from the store.

Two days later, Hislop was allegedly involved in another liquor store hold-up, this time acting with an accomplice.

Police allege he and Keiraville man Jamie Craig entered the BWS store at Unanderra where Hislop again brandished a knife and demanded money.

This time there were multiple customers in the store, the court heard.

The pair allegedly made off with $600, as well as tequila and cans of Jim Beam.

Police reviewed CCTV footage from both incident,s prompting them to arrest Hislop and Craig on Wednesday morning.

Both men applied for bail in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday afternoon, however Magistrate McGowan refused to release either man owing to what she described as “alarming” allegations.

They will remain in custody until at least September.
