The award acknowledged IRT’s gold standard workforce practices that maximise the potential of its NSW, ACT and Queensland employees.
IRT is one of Australia’s largest community-owned providers of aged care, home care and lifestyle communities and has a strong track record of long-term staff retention. The average tenure of IRT staff is five and a half years and 34 employees have celebrated 25 years or more service with IRT.
Chief executive Nieves Murray said winning the award for four years running was a testament to the value the senior’s lifestyle and care provider placed on its employees. She said by attracting and retaining the right people IRT was able to deliver on its commitment to customers and the community. She said by winning the Employer of Choice Award the IRT Group had demonstrated achievements across key areas.
That included culture, leadership and strategy; education, training and development, performance, recognition and remuneration, health, safety and satisfaction, performance management and recognition and remuneration.
“IRT takes active measures to ensure valuable employees are retained through wellness programs, an Employee Assistance Program, salary packaging, a formal reward and recognition program and education, learning and development opportunities,” Ms Murray said.
