The local competition is poised for an epic finale across the board this weekend.
With the League Championship, top-five and relegation battle all still on the line, most clubs in the league still have everything to play for.
Obviously the marquee game is the title clash between Bulli and Wollongong Olympic. It shapes as an huge clash.
Bulli only need a draw at Balls Paddock to claim the League Championship while Olympic can lift the silverware if they knock over their title rival.
Then there is the battle for the top-five, with four clubs fighting for the remaining two spots. Tarrawanna, Port Kembla, Wollongong United and Albion Park will all be out to seal their passage to the post-season.
To cap it all off, cellar-dwellers Picton Rangers will face off against Woonona for survival in a match which will be crucial for both clubs.
All in all, it should be a sensational weekend of football.
- YOUNG TALENT
The Wolves under-18’s finals campaign might have come to an end prematurely last weekend, but there is still no doubt the future is bright for the club.
After making the grand final last year, the boys backed it up with another post-season appearance in 2017 before falling to Manly United in a penalty shoot-out.
It’s a shame they couldn’t prolong their campaign for another week, but with a young squad, most of the boys should get the chance to go around again next season.
While some will obviously take the step up to the under 20s, we have a great group of core players to work with in the coming years. Next season can't come soon enough.
