The marquee encounter between League Championship rivals Bulli and Wollongong Olympic was given top billing on Tuesday after Football South Coast opted to move the match to give it standalone status in the competition.
FSC announced the decision to transfer the marquee final round fixture at Balls Paddock from Sunday to Saturday.
The decision to move the clash came with the support of both clubs, who worked with the governing body this week to make the switch a reality.
“We are most definitely happy to see it change. I think it is a good decision,” Olympic coach Rob Birkin said.
The move will ensure that the highly-anticipated stoush avoids clashing with the remaining IPL round 22 games and provides members of every top tier club the chance to see the game.
It shapes as the biggest match in the competition for more than a decade as both clubs vie to capture the League Championship crown heading into the weekend.
Bulli currently lead Olympic by just one point at the top of league.
Whoever wins the match will claim the title, however Bulli, whose only loss this season came against Olympic, can also walk away with the silverware if they earn a draw on home soil.
Bulli will ask for a gold coin donation for the match which will be donated to Beyond Blue.
The remaining final round fixtures will still take place on Sunday while District League matches will remain in their usual Saturday time slots.
Most IPL clubs still have everything to play for on the final day, with the top-five and relegation battle still undetermined.
While Kemblawarra Fury are certain to finish third on the ladder, Tarrawanna, Port Kembla, Wollongong United and Albion Park White Eagles can still make the top-five.
In another twist, Park meet Port and Tarrawanna host United in round 22.
Picton Rangers and Woonona Sharks are also set to face-off to decide which club is relegated from the top division.
