Kiama teacher Philippa Cleall is about to release her third children’s book in September, with all profits going to the Riding for the Disabled Association Illawarra Centre.

Like the previous books in the series, Pepperpot & Spice has an educational element with themes linking disability, friendship and healthy living.
Spice, a cat without the use of his back legs, is a heroic character who doesn’t let his disability stop him from coming to the rescue of Pepperpot.
“Children are often wary of those who have disabilities or who look different. Pepperpot & Spice challenges this idea and encourages children to look past the surface to enjoy friendship with others through shared interests,” Ms Cleall said.
Other books in the series include Pepperpot & Salty and Pepperpot, and are suitable for pre-school to lower primary aged readers.
The author has also prepared free parent and teacher notes via her website to assist learning.
The book will be launched at the Kiama Classic Family Fun Bike Ride on September 16 at Black Beach in Kiama.
