‘Beaumaris’, located at 19/42 Cliff Road, Wollongong was offered to the market for the first time in 40 years. The apartment is positioned on the crest of Cliff Road.
The single-level floor plan offers uninterrupted 360-degree views of ocean, coastline and the escarpment.
According to Australian Property Monitors, it sold for about the $3 million mark.
Agent Neil Webster, senior executive residential at Colliers International said the whole top-floor penthouse sold at auction last week to an Illawarra buyer.
Mr Webster said the private whole floor, three-bedroom residence of more than 300sqm internally offered scope to add an additional entertaining space on the untouched rooftop level, subject to council approval.
He believed this was a record price for an apartment of its age and type in Wollongong.
