In April Arts NSW and Screen NSW combined to become Create NSW – representatives will be at The Music Lounge at Wollongong Town Hall on Tuesday to meet local artists and explain what help is available.
CEO Michael Brealey said their help would strengthen small to medium arts and cultural organisations, create opportunities for skills development and unlock the full potential of artists and cultural practitioners.
"As the new agency for arts, screen and culture across NSW, we want to be visible in the heart of the communities that we are supporting, so that talent in the area knows exactly who to come to for support,” he said.
“Applying for funding can be a daunting process and isn't a one size-fits-all model, so we want to be able to show artists exactly who we are, listen to their needs and have relaxed face to face conversations to advise on what the best options are for support.”
The state government offers funding through their Arts and Cultural Development Program, support for screen development and production, and for screen industry development and for small film festivals.
