*************************
Most local beaches have been fishing reasonably well despite the persistent westerly wind, especially now that the swell has abated and has left behind and opened up some very nice gutters on most beaches.
There has been some big whiting getting about as well as bream that were taking a liking to fresh live beach worms in these gutters.
Salmon and tailor are thickening up again with some monsters in the mix but the mulloway unfortunately have been very quiet with only a couple of smaller school fish being reported.
The flathead drifts again proved fruitful for some big flatties and there was very little in the way of couta or jacket – a welcome sign.
